What to do in San Martino di Castrozza?
START PLANNING YOUR HOLIDAY NOW
Dear guest, we will get back to you with an answer as soon as possible.
In the meantime, start imagining your holiday by discovering the different activities you can do in San Martino di Castrozza.
1) Sipping an aperitif at 2600 metres above sea level
Thanks to the Rosetta cable car, you can reach the Pale di San Martino Plateau comfortably at an altitude of 2,609 metres. A starting point for countless excursions, from the arrival point of the cable car you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the Primiero Valley, the Plateau of the Pale di San Martino and all the Dolomites. And, why not, enjoy an aperitif at the end of your trek!
2) Trekking to the Huts of the Pale di San Martino
Five are the Huts of the Pale di San Martino Plateau: the Rifugio Pedrotti, close to the arrival of the Rosetta cable car, but also reachable by foot in about 4 hours from San Martino, the Rifugio Mulaz, further North, reachable from Rolle Pass, the Rifugio “al Velo”, the only one visible to the naked eye from San Martino, the Rifugio Pradidali, nestled in the mountains in the core of the Plateau, and the Rifugio Treviso, in the Canali Valley, on the South side of the Plateau.
3) Have a treatment in the Dolce Vita Spa of the Sayonara - Nature & Wellness Hotel
In the mountains, you know, the weather is always very unpredictable. On a rainy day, you may decide to indulge in a treatment in our Spa, such as the “Rosa Alpina” facial treatment, to strengthen the skin’s defences and increase its resistance, or a couple’s scrub game in our Private Spa, where you will perform a body scrub on each other.
4) Have lunch in a "malga"
In San Martino di Castrozza you can eat excellent food, and the best way to enjoy the flavours of the mountain culinary tradition is undoubtedly to have lunch at one of the many “Malgas” (shepherd’s huts) in the area, where, amidst the grazing cows, you can taste local alpine cheeses, typical dishes such as Canederli (dumplings) with Malga butter (Botìro), Spätzle (Tyrolean green dumplings), Speck, polenta and much more.
5) Hiking the Baron Von Lesser trail
The Baron Von Lesser path is an easy ascent/descent to Rifugio Pedrotti along the Val di Roda, and is one of the most comfortable and panoramic paths to descend to San Martino from the Pale di San Martino Plateau or, vice versa, to ascend. to it. All you have to do is take the Rosetta cable car up and follow path no. 702, and between innumerable hairpin bends you will descend to San Martino. The moderate steepness of the path also makes it easy to walk uphill.
6) Up the Val Venegia by E-Bike
Val Venegia descends along the north-eastern side of the Pale, from Baita Segantini at Passo Rolle down to Malga Venegia. Also accessible on foot, you can enjoy riding an E-bike along the circular route from Passo Rolle, and enjoy a unique panorama.
